MAHSA'S PROFESSIONAL LIFE

Mahsa is a leading expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is an associate professor at Auckland University of Technology, and serves as a Deputy Chair for AI Forum NZ. She is a board member of NZTech, EdTech and AI Research Association, where she influences AI policy and research.

She has also led Google’s CS4HS (Computer Science for High Schools) initiative in Auckland for over a decade, supporting digital tech teachers in more than 140 New Zealand schools.

Over the past year, Mahsa has spoken at over 60 conferences, events, and panels, and appeared on TV news programs like TVNZ and The AM Show. She has also been featured in national and international news and has participated in numerous panel discussions, covering topics such as business disruption, diversity and inclusion, innovation, science and technology, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

Additionally, she regularly provides commentary on science and technology for Radio NZ.

MAHSA'S NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION

As the Founder and Director of She Sharp, Mahsa proudly leads an organization focused on empowering women in technology. Despite women comprising more than half the population, they account for only 20% of STEM roles.

With over 2,000 members, She Sharp has organised over 80 events since 2014. Through networking and skill-building opportunities, She Sharp helps break down barriers and contributes to creating a more diverse and equitable STEM workforce.

Her expertise earned her recognition at the NZ Women in Security Awards, winning the Unsung Hero Award in 2023, and nominated finalist for the Most Innovative Educator Award in 2022.
