That moment marked the beginning of a long and exciting journey in technology, and had developed a strong interest in computer engineering. The challenges engineering addresses and the practical application of theory deeply appealed to her. She found the industry to be fast-moving, ever-changing, and exciting, and she has never regretted her choice.

Mahsa enjoys home decorating and spending quality time with her family, believing that taking a complete break from work allows her to return with fresh ideas and perspectives. She also participates in the Iron Māori triathlon, embracing the challenge and the opportunity to push her physical and mental limits while staying active. These hobbies provide her with the balance and energy to approach her professional life with renewed focus.

Mahsa recognizes that negative stereotypes about computer science discourage many girls from entering the field, resulting in lost talent. This insight led to the creation of She# (She Sharp), a non-profit network aimed at getting girls, women, and non-binary individuals into tech. Through workshops and events, She# works to inspire the next generation of female tech leaders, with special focus on encouraging coding during Tech Week every May in New Zealand.

Mahsa is passionate about mentoring students and guiding them through their projects. From her position in academia, she finds great fulfillment in supervising students, helping them navigate their paths to success, and being at the forefront of technological research. She values the excitement of research and the sense of achievement that comes with mentoring, believing that both are essential in shaping the future of tech.
